I believe that a marriage without sex is one of the worse things that can happen. When this happens. all problems start.. and causes the end of a marriage.

M wife and have been married 43 years, we are in our 60s and retired and pretty much on a fixed income. We've been sexless about 30 years. In the beginng sex was ok but I'm not a very intimant person nor was I that interested in sex. Now my wife is totally the opposite and I guess they say opposets attract. Which in our case wasn't the best thing. I was at fault for faking I enjoyed sex . after 15 years or so I developed E.D. and medical issues requiring me to take meds. These meds totally destroyed my libido for which I had very little in the first place. As for my wife she was really upset and still is to this day. She has told me she will never forgive me in the way I acted. But were still married but live as room mates only. Probably divorce would have been the best way out but that never happend. I've ruined two peoples lives and the worse part about it is I don't feel sorry about it.

Hi Frustrated,

Thank you for sharing your predicament and I sympathize fully with your situation.

Sexual abuse is probably the hardest problem to overcome and mixed with medication which is something i forgot to mention in the article can be a difficult mess to sort out.

I would not like to presume anything in your relationship of course but something as delicate as this can still be overcome i am sure but a gentle approach would be the best way and when communicating as you said keep the sex out of it but focus on things that make her appreciate you as this can slowly lead to more intimacy.

I wish you all the best and i hope your wife's therapy can help mend some of those wounds.
